Like a ripple effect, I believe therapy has the potential to influence all aspects of an individual's life. Using a positive lens, clients and I tackle challenges by accessing their pre-existing resources and the resilience they’ve developed from past experiences. I believe the individual is the driving force in treatment, holding within themselves the insights and solutions required to deal with their life challenges. I provide the client with the attention, understanding, and guidance, when needed, to move towards their ideal version of self.
Practicing counseling from a Gestalt and Person-Centered approach means that I believe each  person has an internal struggle that contributes to the external challenges they face. No single therapeutic approach is suitable for all clients, however, so I utilize the strategies that will be most effective for each individual based on the specific issues and their expressed preferences.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
After graduating from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (#72227). I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospital and community mental health, and with a variety of populations. I have a unique interest in working with adolescents and their families to address anger, depression, anxiety, substance use, boundaries, impulse control, school challenges, self-esteem, and symptoms management. I do this through the development and improvement of communication skills, individually and within the context of the family and social environment.
