Life in today’s world can be very challenging, even for the most resourceful people. There may be times where we struggle, feel extremely overwhelmed, and may not know where to go or what to do. I was drawn to therapy because I’ve always enjoyed helping people live their lives to the fullest. Whether it is finding your way through a new path in life or working through a traumatic event, change can be healing. It can be hard to work through these issues, but we will work together to find the right approach to therapy to fit your needs.

I  have  experience  with  using  Cognitive  Behavioral  Therapy  to  help  clients make changes  in   their   lives   and  ways  of  thinking  as  well  as  using  Eye   Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to assist with processing trauma.

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#104036) in the State of Texas and have a Master’s in Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Before pursuing my Master’s degree, I earned a Bachelor’s in Social work from Briar Cliff University with a minor in Gerontology.

My previous work experience has been with Veterans and Active Duty Service Members who suffered traumatic events, including sexual trauma, during their deployments and/or their childhood. This work has allowed me to become very trauma focused in my practice.

How long does therapy take?

Some clients may feel relief or meet their therapeutic goals in just a few sessions, while other clients may require months or years to reach psychological wellness. Those with severe mental health disorders may benefit from lifelong therapy support. You and your counselor will regularly examine your goals and evaluate your improvement. Your counselor will help you decide when it's the right time to terminate treatment, but it's always your decision to end therapy at any time for any reason.
