You are not alone and do not have to do this by yourself. My goal is to create a safe and empowering environment to support your healing and growth and best meet your or your child’s needs.
Â
I am honored to walk alongside parents and caregivers as they navigate the ever-shifting landscape of family life. You may feel vulnerable when you start the search for outside help for your child, whether they are in the beautiful innocence of childhood, the wilds of adolescence, or just setting out to write the first chapters of their own story. You may feel like YOU should be the one who has all the answers and that you have somehow failed as a parent. In fact, your bravery in seeking assistance confirms that you are an amazing parent who will do anything for your child.
Â
I am passionate about connecting with children by building a bridge to their inner world through the powerful language of play. By prioritizing their unique developmental stage and using child-friendly techniques like play therapy, art therapy, storytelling, and interactive games, I aid children in expressing themselves, finding healthy ways to manage big emotions, and communicating their needs with confidence.
Â
I strive to empower adolescents and young adults to find their voice and navigate the complexities of identity and independence. To all my fellow adults, I understand the weight you carry and the constant inner voice that questions your self-worth and purpose. Using a holistic mindset, I provide individualized care that considers your mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social well-being. By integrating mindfulness and somatic practices, we'll work together to foster a deep connection between your mind and body, helping you heal from the past and step confidently into your future.

LICENSE, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Â
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#62119) with over 25 years of combined expertise across the education and mental health sectors. After earning a BS in Early Childhood and Special Education from Sam Houston State University, I served as an early childhood and special education teacher. After obtaining an MA in Psychology from Houston Baptist University, I joined a collaborative team of mental health, play, speech, and occupational therapists who specialized in therapeutic education for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental differences. This work developed my passion for working with children with special challenges and for teaching parents how to understand and best support their needs. In addition to private practice, I have led immersive therapy groups for those of all ages and have served as a workshop facilitator and speaker on a variety of mental health topics.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling

What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
