As a therapist, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, and families who are ready to begin or continue their mental health journey. As a bilingual therapist, fluent in English and Spanish, I serve clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring treatment is accessible, inclusive, and culturally competent for those seeking help.

Therapy is a collaborative partnership rooted in trust, empathy, and authenticity, and I strive to create a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel emotionally safe, respected, and genuinely heard. My goal is to help clients expand their self-understanding, strengthen their resilience, and develop practical coping skills to build lasting change. I am deeply passionate about this work and would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and a more empowered sense of self.

I utilize evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational interviewing and may integrate somatic and mindfulness techniques to improve a client’s nervous system regulation, such as grounding, body awareness, breathwork, and guided imagery. For trauma work, we may examine how these experiences affect the way you think, feel, and respond in your body, learn to recognize your patterns within the cycle of violence, and create personalized safety plans and coping strategies.

As a therapist who works with children, I utilize play-based therapy to create a space where a child can securely express, explore, and process what they are feeling, thinking, and seeing in ways that meet their age and developmental needs. Through their time in the playroom, they may grow their identity and autonomy and learn lifelong skills in problem solving, healthy boundary setting, and impulse control. Depending on your child’s needs, sessions may also include opportunities for you as the parent to join in the play interactions to strengthen your bond, foster understanding, and support connection outside of therapy.

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston University in Huntsville, I obtained my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston–Victoria and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (#89051) in Texas. My education has provided me with a strong foundation for clinical work and has deepened my understanding of the intersections between trauma, systems, culture, and mental health. My professional background includes advocacy, clinic work, and community-based roles, particularly with individuals and families surviving domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and other traumatic experiences. Through this work, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of trauma and its profound impact on individuals, families, and communities.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
