I believe in the healing power of truly being heard. My guiding principle as a mental health professional is to treat the person and not just the symptoms. It is important to me that you feel secure and safe, so I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing your inner thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgement or shame.

I work with individuals who want to break negative cycles, change their present circumstances, and optimally manage their lives. The path to self-improvement often centers around harnessing your unique assets to be the best version of yourself. First, we will identify what you want from life and the qualities you want to strive towards. Then we will examine where you are today, the strengths you already have, and the parts of your life that are no longer working for you.

Following your lead, we will work at your pace to create change and achieve your goals. My approach to therapy aims to provide you with useful resources, direction, and the development of a diverse and vast toolbox you can access when needed. These practical tools and coping skills, such as grounding, relaxation, and guided imagery techniques will aid your transformation as you explore difficult topics and and experience distressing symptoms in and out of session. As your therapist, I would be honored to be a guide, collaborator, and partner on your journey.

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (#14413) in Texas who provides counseling services in both English and Mandarin. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of New Orleans, I became trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Didactic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and am currently completing my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). With extensive experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, age groups, and presenting problems, I help inspire and support clients as they navigate mental wellness.

Outside my work as a therapist, I enjoy hiking and jogging along nature trails and learning about different cultures through visiting other countries and exploring cultural events in our vibrant city.
