TREATMENT SPECIALTIES
You may be terrified to start therapy or may wonder if treatment will actually help. Your journey toward healing may be the most difficult step in creating the life you desire, but I am here to offer compassionate support, build your confidence, and help you along the way.
Therapy does not “fix” your problems or give you all the answers. It creates a safe space for you to talk openly and feel heard without fear of judgement. As your therapist, I will provide empathy, insight, guidance, and most importantly, will challenge you to challenge yourself. We will address how to best navigate your life struggles, tackle barriers that are limiting your growth, and unpack the things that feel hard to move past. Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, we will move you toward transformation. Tasks often include challenging your negative thoughts, learning how to manage intense emotions, developing self-compassion, and strengthening your motivation to change.
“Recognizing that you are not where you want to be is a starting point to begin changing your life.” - Deborah Day
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#104212) in the state of Texas and hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Social Work from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and a Masters of Social Work degree from Baylor University. I began my career at an inpatient behavioral hospital where I first learned how to provide compassionate care during others’ most vulnerable moments. In each role I have taken, I have cultivated new ways of being present for others in different stages of life. I have walked alongside individuals and families as they navigated mental health concerns, faced terminal illness, struggled through family discord, and had tough but meaningful end-of-life discussions. I look forward to using both my professional training and my lived experiences to help my clients achieve their therapeutic goals.
