Life can be full of different challenges; often we deal with them alone. My hope is to provide a space for you to tell your story without judgment. Regardless of your stage in life, you can expect I will meet you where you’re at, while empowering you to take control of the pen and write the new chapters of your narrative. You don’t have to go it alone anymore; I can be a compassionate witness to your story. I look forward to supporting you as you become the author of your own life!
I work collaboratively with adolescents, adults, and couples to improve their relationships and overall quality of life. I believe therapy is not a one size fits all, so I have been trained in many therapeutic modalities to expand my therapeutic toolbox. In order to see positive change, I encourage acknowledgment of the learned and unlearned behaviors from our family of origin. I use Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Therapy, and have completed Level 1 Gottman Methods Couples Therapy and EMDR trainings for treatment with couples and trauma.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#202884) with a Bachelor’s degree in Family Life Education-Marriage and Family from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University. In addition to working with individuals with anger, anxiety, trauma, depression, PTSD, and other psychiatric symptoms, I have invaluable experience serving veterans, first responders, and their families. As a former Pre-Kindergarten teacher and After School Mentor, I saw first-hand the importance of strengthening our family systems; thus, spurred my specialization in healing and fortifying these family relationships.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling
What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
