Life in today’s world can be very challenging, even for the most resourceful people. There may be times when we struggle, feel extremely overwhelmed, and may not know where to go or what to do. Whether it is finding your way through a new path in life or working through a traumatic event, change can be healing. I strive to provide a client-centered experience and enjoy helping people live their lives to the fullest.

I have experience with using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients make changes in their lives and ways of thinking as well as using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to assist with processing trauma. It can be hard to work through tough issues, but we will work together to find the right approach to therapy to fit your needs.

LICENSE, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#104036) in the State of Texas and have a Master’s in Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Before pursuing my graduate degree, I earned a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Briar Cliff University with a minor in Gerontology. My previous work experience was with Veterans and active-duty Service Members who suffered traumatic events, including sexual trauma during their deployments or their childhood. This work has allowed me to become very trauma-focused in my practice.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
