TREATMENT SPECIALTIES
I am not just your therapist; I am your biggest cheerleader. I am filled with joy and inspiration when I have a client tell me how much their lives have changed for the better after coming to therapy. Witnessing clients find their inner strength and resilience as they grow and mature affords me a powerful sense of meaning from this work.
In my practice, I focus on helping people of all ages, orientations, and genders find love, healing, passion, and deeper connections. As a warm, compassionate, and collaborative therapist, I create a non-judgmental place to explore freely and build an honest bond with real trust. We will look at the root patterns that might be holding you back from reaching your goals and empower you with real-world tools to better navigate your challenges. To feel more in control of your life, you will better understand your triggers, cognitive distortions, and the power that challenging your thoughts can have on changing your mood.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR and use Imago Therapy and The Gottman Method to treat couples for issues like communication, trust, infidelity, intimacy, and sex concerns. Couples therapy is most effective when the couple is truly committed to each other and to the therapeutic process. Following a comprehensive assessment, I will provide you with practical, out-of-session homework to help you apply your new skills in the real world.
Talking about sensitive sexual issues with a therapist may be hard. People may wonder, “Am I normal?” and “Can therapy help me?” As a Certified Sexologist, I create a respectful, strictly non-physical environment for individuals and couples to safely explore issues surrounding intimacy, desire, and sexual health.
I have helped hundreds of individuals and couples rediscover joy, confidence and connection and would feel honored to welcome you to therapy.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#39119) and Certified Sexologist (#24165) in Texas with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Alaska and a PhD in Clinical Sexology from the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. For the past 26 years, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings to include psychiatric hospitals, agencies, and my own private practice. Though my passion for social work began in pediatric cancer care, my path evolved through crisis intervention into specializing in severe trauma, depression, anxiety, and sex therapy. Throughout my career, I have empowered diverse populations, from veterans to survivors of trafficking, to reshape their thinking and find lasting healing, even when their external circumstances remain the same.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling

What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
