Career Development

I am passionate about my work and dedicated to helping clients navigate their unique paths toward healing and growth. Change is a dynamic and ongoing process that unfolds through self-awareness, insight, and actionable steps, and true transformation occurs when clients have the tools and strategies to tackle life's challenges. I facilitate this process by providing guidance, support, and practical techniques that promote resilience and well-being. Within a collaborative partnership where mutual trust and respect are paramount, I create a safe-enough and supportive environment where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions.

Integrative in my therapeutic approach, I often incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns while utilizing mindfulness practices to enhance emotional regulation and present-moment awareness. Drama therapy, including role-playing and storytelling, incorporates creative techniques effective in accessing and processing deep-seated emotions, particularly for those who struggle with verbal expression. Clients explore different aspects of their identity and potential outcomes, enhancing agency and empowerment and developing new perspectives on experiences.

LICENSE, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (#89526) and throughout my academic and professional journey, I have been consistently drawn to roles that allow me to support and uplift individuals facing unique challenges, specifically those navigating a neurodivergent identity. I completed my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University in Massachusetts with a specialization in Drama Therapy, which provided me with a robust foundation in therapeutic techniques and an appreciation for the transformative potential of creative therapies. I then had the privilege of working at psychiatric hospitals, where I honed my skills in case management, treatment planning, comprehensive assessments, and outpatient care. My subsequent roles have allowed me to further refine my clinical skills with diverse populations, including individuals struggling with substance use and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
