When life gets you down, you may feel like you’re on an island and going through it alone. From day-to-day stressors to moments of crisis, life can be full of challenges for people of all ages. My passion and purpose are helping youth and adults navigate these difficult times while learning skills to overcome the negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions that can arise.

It is important to me that my clients feel seen, heard, and understood. I strive to establish a strong therapeutic rapport by providing a safe space for clients to be their truest selves without fear of judgment or rejection. My clinical approach is centered around showing compassion and support while also holding my clients accountable. I employ cognitive behavioral techniques and incorporate solution-focused interventions to help my clients reach their goals, enhance their sense of self, and improve their overall mental health.

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

I am Licensed Professional Counselor (#89346) in the state of Texas. My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University (Eat’em up Kats!) and a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!). My counseling experience is rooted in the field of education as a teacher and school counselor and in the field of mental health as a private practice therapist.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
