Are you feeling stuck, navigating a major life transition, or dealing with emotional difficulties and conflict? It is completely normal to feel unsure of where to start or what comes next. I can help. While I believe everyone has inherent strengths, we all face challenges where a little extra support is needed. As a kind and patient helping professional, I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to help them move forward.
Â
I strive to ensure our time is meaningful. Instead of using an agenda for each session, I meet my clients where they are and allow them to choose the focus for the day. I don’t believe therapy has to be serious all the time and leave plenty of room for humor when the time is right. My hope is for our relationship to feel real, and for you to be comfortable being you. When people come into therapy with me, I want them to know they are walking into a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can tell their story and feel heard.
Â
Using a person-centered approach, I practice Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Together, we’ll look at patterns in your life and discover what motivates you, what is already working, and what is getting in the way of your goals. My role is to guide, support, and encourage, while challenging you when needed. We will build self-awareness and insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and discover connections to your life experiences. With these new understandings, we can figure out what needs to change and get to work on it.

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
Â
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#88845), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (#205235), and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (#16236) in Texas. Before becoming a therapist, I was in the education field for 25 years, serving as a teacher, school counselor, and campus principal. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology & Sociology from Our Lady of the Lake University and my Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Houston-Victoria, and I am currently a doctoral student in the Counselor Education & Supervision program at Walden University. Since transitioning into mental health, I have gained experience in private practice, non-profit agencies, and behavioral health settings. These roles have given me the opportunity to work firsthand with children, adolescents, and families, providing counseling services and leading systems that support emotional health and wellness.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling

What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
