As a counselor, I am committed to guiding individuals toward improving their quality of life and supporting their healing process. Counseling is my calling, and I am passionate about helping people pave the way for meaningful and lasting change. My role is to listen attentively, provide guidance, and equip you with the necessary tools for transformation.
I firmly believe the cornerstone of effective therapy is the formation of a strong relationship between therapist and client, one built on trust, mutual respect, and collaboration. Grounded in empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental attitude, my therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness meditation, reality therapy, family-oriented practices, and EMDR.
Together, we can embark on this journey of self-discovery and personal growth. I am genuinely looking forward to working with you.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas (#09558) and hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. I am of Hispanic heritage, and while not fully fluent in Spanish, I am comfortable engaging in conversations in the language. I bring a strong educational foundation and over a decade of experience in mental health working with at-risk youth and their parents and guardians, adults struggling with chemical dependency, and college students in search of self and life direction.
Outside of my professional life, I am deeply family-oriented, and my faith is a guiding force in my life. With a prioritization for self-care, I have a passion for fishing, love exploring new foods and restaurants, and enjoy regular visits to the gym.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling
What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
