My training is primarily based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, and I am working toward certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#67783) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (#11475) in the state of Texas. My education includes a bachelor’s degree in history from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a master’s degree in professional counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. I completed my internship at Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center, where I benefited from excellent supervision and guidance in the treatment of co-occurring mental health disorders. I was a case manager and program therapist with the Young Adult Program (ages 18-24) and also in the Day Intensive Outpatient Program, and I also served as a counselor at a men’s shelter, the Open Door Mission.
I enjoy reading, traveling, running and backpacking with my wife.
