Trying to balance yourself emotionally, physically, spiritually, and mentally might feel like a lot on your plate. You should know that reaching out for help is a testament to your strength.

Working at your pace, we will ensure therapy is a safe environment to address your barriers and realize your goals. I aim to optimize the tools you already have and help you uncover new skills to make life more manageable. As your counselor, I would be honored to walk alongside you to overcome obstacles and help you leave therapy with a more in-depth understanding of your capabilities and resilience.
Â
I am passionate about working with clients who are confronting everyday stressors, adjustment to change, relationship issues, trauma, self-esteem, multicultural concerns, and LGBTQIA+ issues. My therapeutic approach includes using client-centered therapy, existential theory, psychoanalytic theory, distress tolerance, interpersonal dynamics, and mindfulness. I am also skilled in crisis intervention and using artistic mediums in therapeutic settings.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I became a Licensed Professional Counselor (#81846) in Texas after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas in San Antonio. My career in the mental health field has included in-person and virtual work providing intake, assessment, individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, and discharge planning for teens and adults in diverse settings, including private practices, community health organizations, a corrections facility, a non-profit organization, and a psychiatric hospital.
How long does therapy take?
Some clients may feel relief or meet their therapeutic goals in just a few sessions, while other clients may require months or years to reach psychological wellness. Those with severe mental health disorders may benefit from lifelong therapy support. You and your counselor will regularly examine your goals and evaluate your improvement. Your counselor will help you decide when it's the right time to terminate treatment, but it's always your decision to end therapy at any time for any reason.
